2012 draft pick Peach signs

Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce that non-import offensive lineman Billy Peach has signed with the team. As per club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Peach, who was born in St. John’s, NL, and raised in Kingston, Ont., was selected by Calgary in the third round (19th overall) in the 2012 CFL Canadian Draft.

Peach spent four seasons at Jacksonville University (2008-11) and was part of Pioneer Football League championship teams in 2008 and 2010. The Dolphins were runners-up for the league title in 2011 when Peach made a total of 10 starts including nine at right tackle and one at left tackle. The Dolphins offence ranked second in the conference with an average of 396.4 yards per game.

Peach joins four other Calgary draftees on the Stampeders offensive line — Dimitri Tsoumpas and Jon Gott (2008), Steve Myddelton (2009) and J’Micheal Deane (2010).
