Messam: Happy to be here

David Moll

When I look back at my season from the beginning, it’s been tough. I’ve been working hard since February. I have put the work in, I believe in myself and in my teammates.

It’s just been a crazy ride. I didn’t expect I would be here but I’m happy to be here and I’m happy to be making this playoff push.

I’m grateful to my teammates. They stuck with me and it’s turned out positive.

This is what the season is all about. I think I perform well in any pressure situation. I expect a lot from myself and the team expects a lot from me so I just go out there and help my team by contributing to a win.

We just played good football in all three phases of the game tonight. We shut them down on special teams and offence, we handled the adversity when it came and the defence played lights out.

My best catch came in the fourth quarter. It was all just determination and effort, man. I was trying to make sure Biggie (Adam Bighill) doesn’t tackle me in space and I think I did a good job of making him miss.

I made him miss, made the safety miss and then (Ryan) Phillips tracked me down and like a monkey, jumped on my back. I wanted to score but, at that point, I was so tired.

A win like this, it feels good. It’s good for our confidence but, like I said, we believe in what we have got going on in the room and we’re not worried about Edmonton.

We’re going to just go out there and play Stampeder football.
