Derek Dennis joined the Stampeders in September and started the last five regular season games and both playoff games at left tackle.

He spent the 2014 season on the practice squad of the NFL’s Carolina Panthers, who will play in the Super Bowl this Sunday against the Denver Broncos.

The broadcast journalism major played 52 games at Temple and was invited to play in the East-West Shrine game after his senior year in 2011.

In December, the New York native added some Stampeders red to his hair – which we hope he keeps for the 2016 season!

We asked Derek to finish the following sentences with the first thing that came to his mind.

A product from an infomercial I would most like to own is… a snuggie because I get so cold sometimes when I’m up playing video games and it’s hard to wrap up in a blanket and use the joystick.

If I had to be trapped in a TV show for a month, the show I would choose is… my favorite TV show is Supernatural. I would love to be a Winchester brother and hunt ghosts, ghouls, vampires and whatever other monsters there are in world.

My favourite breakfast is… I am a big guy so a Western Omelette with cheesecake pancakes is legendary to my tummy!!

If I found $100 I would… I actually found $160 bucks on ground when I was in college and I took my girlfriend at the time to Six Flags theme park. So to the person whose money I found, thanks for the fun weekend!

The last thing I bought online was… a pair of Christian Louboutin shoes for a young lady I used to date. She ran out of my life with them too hahaha! Momma warned me that would happen.

Something I’ve always wanted to do, but haven’t yet is… go skydiving but I doubt my scary self would even try it. Or maybe even bungee jumping!!

If I had to live solely on a foreign food, the nation’s I would choose is… I fell in love with poutine while I was in Calgary, definitely can survive off that! Also a big fan of greek food – love gyros!!

My favourite childhood toy was… a Ghostbuster Proton Pack that I loved and I would run around the house quoting the movie and chasing ghosts.

The most famous person in my cell phone is… my boy Kyle O’Quinn of the New York Knicks which also happens to be my favourite basketball team.

My celebrity crush is… if I had to pick one it would be Serena Williams. She is a stallion… no pun intended haha!
