The 71st regular season in Stampeders history gets under way as Calgary faces the BC Lions in Vancouver on Saturday. Kickoff at BC Place is 8 p.m. MDT.

It’s the first time since 2004 the Stamps will be opening the regular season on the road.

The contest also marks the head-coaching debut of Dave Dickenson, a long-time player and assistant with the Red and White. Dickenson is the 25th coach in Stampeders history after serving on John Hufnagel’s staff for seven seasons including offensive coordinator’s duties from 2011-15.

Calgary was 1-1 in pre-season action including a 31-21 victory over the Lions at BC Place on Friday. The Lions were also 1-1 in the pre-season.

In 2015, Calgary tied for the best regular-season record in the CFL at 14-4 including a 2-0 mark against the Lions. The Stamps added a 35-9 win over BC in the Western Semi-Final.
