It’s an early-season battle for first place in the West Division as the Stampeders face the BC Lions on Friday night at McMahon Stadium.

The second-place Stamps, at home for the first time since July 1, are 2-1-1 and they’re unbeaten in three games since a 20-18 season-opening loss in Vancouver against the Lions. Division-leading BC is 3-1. 

The Stamps (who have allowed an average of 21.5 points per game) and Lions (18.3) own the CFL’s two stingiest defences so far in 2016 while Calgary is third in the league an average of 28.3 points scored per contest.

Fan Appreciation Night

Friday’s contest is Fan Appreciation Night as the Stamps pay tribute to the best supporters in the CFL. Select fans will win autographed jerseys, footballs, Stamps T-shirts, pre-game sideline passes and other prizes.

Ram Fan Zone

The pre-game activity starts three hours prior to kickoff at 5 p.m. in the Ram Fan Zone, located in the east parking lot adjacent to the Ticket Office at McMahon Stadium.

Community partner: Vecova

The official charity partner for Friday’s game is the Vecova Centre for Disability Services and Research.

Vecova, whose mandate is to help create a society in which individuals with disabilities are integral and valued members, will have an information booth located at the end of the LRT walkway over Crowchild Trail.
