Stamps stop by Alberta Children’s Hospital

The Calgary Stampeders paid yet another visit to the nearby Alberta Children’s Hospital on Friday afternoon.

Kicker Rene Paredes and defensive back Brandon Smith, the Stamps player representative for the Every Yard Counts program, said hello to numerous bedridden patients before playing board games with children in the art studio.

Meanwhile, first-time visitor Zach Minter headed downstairs to read books to those from the mental health unit. The first-year Stampeder was joined by veteran Jamar Wall as well as Ashlee, Ashleigh and Breanna of the Outriders, presented by Century Downs.

Minter and Wall then went outdoors for games on the playground before the trio of Outriders went up to join Smith and Paredes in the art studio for pictures and autographs.

Only two more Every Yard Counts visits remain – the day before Calgary takes on the Montreal Alouettes on Oct. 15, and one week later leading into a matchup with the Toronto Argonauts for the regular-season finale at McMahon.
