For the second time this season, Calgary Stampeders running back Jerome Messam has been honoured as one of the Canadian Football League’s three players of the week.

Messam was selected after rushing for 111 yards on just 10 carries in the Stamps’ 31-13 victory over the Toronto Argonauts on Friday. He also had one catch for seven yards.

Messam, who was previously recognized in the league awards in Week 2, leads the CFL with 1,162 yards and 11 rushing touchdowns. The yardage total is a single-season career high for Messam and he holds a 270-yard lead over Toronto’s Brandon Whitaker as he bids to become the 10th Stampeders player in franchise history to win the rushing title.

This is the eighth time this season a Stamps player has received player-of-the-week recognition from the league.
