Defensive end Charleston Hughes has played nine seasons for the Red and White.

He played his first game on July 3, 2008, and recorded his first sack two weeks later against Hamilton. He currently has 88 career sacks, placing him second on the Stamps’ all-time list behind Will Johnson, who had 99.

The Saginaw, Mich., native was the West nominee for the Most Outstanding Defensive Player in 2013 when he recorded a career-high and league-leading 18 sacks. He also led the CFL in that category in 2016.

A two-time Grey Cup champ, Hughes played his 100th CFL game on Sept. 13, 2014. He’s been a West Division all-star five times and a CFL all-star three times.

The Sackmaster answered some questions so we could get to know him a little bit better.
