Quick Six to run for Flames

The Calgary Stampeders are pleased to announce they are loaning Quick Six the Touchdown Horse to the Calgary Flames for the 2017 National Hockey League playoffs.

The horse, which will be renamed “Quick Sticks” while on assignment to the hockey team, will do a hard-charging lap of the Saddledome ice after every Flames goal in the post-season.

The horse has been fitted with special horseshoes made by Bauer, the same company that makes skates for many players including the Flames’ own Johnny Gaudreau.

“Thanks to this custom equipment, the horse can make sharp turns and stop on a dime,” said Chelsea Drake, Quick Six’s rider. “With the way the Flames have been playing lately, we know the horse will be very busy in the coming weeks. It’s been Quick Six’s pleasure to perform for the fans at McMahon Stadium in the past and he’s looking forward to entertaining the C of Red in the playoffs.”

Happy April Fool’s Day, everyone!
