Arthur, Brennan and Royal to serve as guest coaches

The Calgary Stampeders are pleased to announce three guest coaches for 2017 training camp.

Jabari Arthur: Recently named receivers coach for the University of Calgary Dinos, Arthur is a former Stampeders player. The Montreal native joined the Stamps in 2008 and was a member of Calgary’s Grey Cup-winning squad during his rookie season as well as the Stamps’ 2014 championship team. He was traded to Winnipeg in 2009 but returned to the Stamps in 2010 and wound up playing a total of seven seasons for the Red and White.

Carl Brennan: The offensive line coach for the Universite de Laval for a total of 17 years over two stints, Brennan also has experience in the CFL including one season as a member of the Stampeders coaching staff in 2004. He has also been with the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Edmonton Eskimos.

Chris Royal: In 2016, Royal completed his first season as defensive backs coach at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Mo. He was previously at Glenville State and Saint Louis University. During his playing days, he played free safety at Marshall University and had an eight-year career in the Arena Football League.

Rookie camp begins Thursday at 10 a.m. at McMahon Stadium while main training gets underway on Sunday at 9:05 a.m.
