The end of the CFL football season means the end of our season as well.

This was my first year as an Outrider and let me tell you Stamps fans that it has been an amazing year. At first, I was overwhelmed trying to learn new dances, cheers and football terms but with the help of all the amazing vets on the team, I was confident in no time.

After the first game, I became in love with performing on the sidelines and cheering for the best team in the CFL.
     
This year, I was given the opportunity to volunteer with many wonderful organizations and events such as the Canadian Blood Services, the Wal-Mart Walk for Miracles, the Hike for Hospice, the Alberta Children’s Hospital and so many more. It was exciting and inspirational to see how eager the entire team was about volunteering. I sincerely enjoy being apart of a team that is very willing and ambitious to contribute to their community. 

Although the Stampeders did not participate in the Grey Cup this year, the Outriders travelled to Vancouver to represent Calgary. This was my first Grey Cup, and it was an amazing experience. We were busy dancing, cheering and meeting so many fantastic football fans.

One of the greatest things I have gained from my experience as an Outrider is the friendship of all of the girls on the team. As we break for the holidays, we all prepare for the 2012 season, where new members will join our team and some members will retire and become Outriders alumni. I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity I had to meet and become friends with all the members of the 2011 Outriders and I am looking forward to meeting the new girls next year.
   
This amazing season would not have been possible with out hard work of our coaches Stacy Ruddell and Meagan Reid as well as the extraordinary support of the Stamps fans. We can’t wait until the 2012 football season, where we will see all of your cheerful faces in the stands.
