Whenever you catch a guy wearing pink, they always say “real men wear pink.” This is very true.

If you didn’t already know, Oct. 21 is a very, very special game. It’s the Stampeders’ fourth annual PinkPower event, with the Stampeders raising money for the Canadian Cancer Society. Five dollars from every ticket sold through a special promo will go to research. Also, pink gear will be available for sale at the game for all you fans to sport and show your pink pride!

The boys themselves will be wearing pink gear such as gloves, helmet decals and wristbands. As well, the officials will be using pink whistles during the game.

Our man Randy Chevrier, a.k.a. as @chevywearspink, has been taking over Twitter with his “Pink Army” to raise awareness and money. Chevy is holding a special contest — all you have to do is follow him on Twitter, “pinkify” your handle and send him a direct message with the amount you would like to donate. This enters you into a draw for an amazing pink prize pack which includes gear worn by a player from the game.

A lot of Outriders have partaken in the pink fun and changed their handles, myself included! Chevy is a huge supporter and poster boy of the campaign — his mother survived cancer and knows that if detected early, breast cancer is 90 percent beatable.
 
The Outriders have been very excited about this game because we will be partaking in the pinkness by having pink-themed dances along with other pink surprises! When I heard this, I was so excited. Not only do I love the colour pink and the amzing songs we’re using, I get to do my favorite part of being an Outrider — giving back to the community. Us girls are very lucky to even be able to work with organizations on such a close level and all of us can relate to cancer in some way or form.

Stamps fans, I hope you are as pumped as I am and I am expecting all of you to be wearing at least a little bit of pink when you come to cheer the Stamps on! Remember: Think pink!
