Players are generally confirmed two weeks prior to the event. Players enjoy interacting with their fans but their availability is limited during the Canadian Football League season. Players are only available on their one day off each week for appearances. These dates will vary depending on their game day schedule. Please note from the middle of October through to the end of November no player appearances will be schedule as the players focus and prepare for the CFL play-offs. Following the conclusion of the season, players are generally not available for the month of December. Because of the team’s intense practice schedule during training camp to their first regular season game, players and coaches are unavailable for appearances during this time.
Charity appearances are limited to one hour in length. Paid promotional appearances can vary in length but most are scheduled for two hours.
Unless a game jersey is requested, players often wear casual clothing, a golf shirt and slacks, to appearances.
The majority of player appearances are community service, school or charity related, and as a result, are non-paid appearances. Many civic organizations offer honorariums to players. Some appearances are paid engagements. Business or promotional appearance fees are not set by the Calgary Stampeders but by the players and their agents. Fees depend upon the player requested.
