2010 Stampeders Fanfest
The always popular Fanfest event will be held Saturday, May 29 at McMahon Stadium. Set that date aside.
After a one-year absence because of bad weather, Fanfest was back better than ever in 2009. With the sun shining warmly and brightly, hundreds and hundreds of fans poured through the gates of McMahon Stadium on May 30.
The popular annual event serves as the unofficial launch the Calgary Stampeders season.
Fans had the opportunity to have their photo taken with ‘Quick Six’ the Stampeders Touchdown Horse, to meet the Outriders, to participate with players in activities on McMahon’s Field Turf, to ask a Stampeders coach questions about the upcoming season and to get an autograph or two.
Henry Burris, Ken-Yon Rambo, Nik Lewis, Burke Dales, Jeff Pilon, Mike Labinjo, Rob Cote and many other players were on hand to meet fans and sign autographs.
Stamps legends such as Wayne Harris, Herm (Ham Hands) Harrison, Sugarfoot Anderson and others were also at McMahon.
Before the gates opened, the Calgary Grey Cup Standing Committee hosted a free pancake breakfast.
