TRAINING CAMP OPENER

Sunday, June 1, 2008 - Presented by Welldaq Data Systems.

More than 500 fans took in the first day of training camp at McMahon Stadium as the Stampeders began preparations for the 2008 season. Fans were treated to a warm, sunny morning where they had a chance to see all their favourite veteran players, as well as a number of the new faces competing for roster spots.

After the first practice of the day wrapped up, fans made their way over to the South parking lot for a barbecue. On the grill was a helping of home-made Italian sausages courtesy of Nicastro's Neighbourhood Pub as well as hot dogs from Schneiders. Beverages courtesy of Pepsi helped keep the fans refreshed.

"The beginning of training camp is always an exciting time of the year," said President Scott Ackles as he helped pass out hot dogs to the Stamps' faithful. "But what makes it even more special is being able to share it with your fans like this and kick of the season in style."
