TRAINING CAMP OPENER

Training Camp Opener — Presented by Stampeders.com

As is the custom, the new football season started with the annual Training Camp Opener event. On the morning of June 7, 2009, fans gathered in the McMahon Stadium stands to take in the first practice of the Stampeders' main camp. It was the fans' first look at the returning veterans alongside the rookie challengers.

Following practice, a barbecue lunch was served to the hungry spectators.

"The beginning of training camp is always an exciting time of the year," said Stampeders President Scott Ackles. "But what makes it even more special is being able to share it with your fans and season-ticket holders and kick off the season in style."
