QUICK SIX

The Stampeder Touchdown Horse Presented By Devitt & Forand Contractors

When the Calgary Stampeders score a touchdown at McMahon Stadium, the Stampeder Touchdown Horse along with rider Karyn Drake, lead the charge down the east sidelines as the crowd erupts in unison to celebrate.

The long-standing tradition at Stampeder football games was enhanced in 1993 when the Stampeders introduced a white gelding to match the team’s trademark logo, the white mustang. “Quick Six”, who was introduced in 2003 continues to lead the charge with Karyn Drake. He will turn 15 years old on June 3rd.

Karyn Drake, the other half of the Calgary Stampeders Touchdown Horse tandem, has been riding horses since she was three years old. She was the 1985 Stampede Queen and former Miss Calgary. As a young child, she grew up rooting for the Stampeders and attending games with her father. She loved to watch the Touchdown Horse. Her dream of riding at the Stampeders games became a reality in 1993, when she joined the Stampeders. Karyn has missed only a handful of games since and has participated in five Grey Cup games.
