Eligibility Criteria

• The Forzani Foundation will review applications from organizations that meet the following requirements:
• Must be a registered charity or qualified donee ("Qualified donees" include: registered Canadian charities, registered Canadian amateur athletic associations, Canadian municipalities, the United Nations or its agencies, and the federal and provincial governments and their agencies)
• The organization's purpose must be consistent with the objects of the Foundation
• The proposal must be precise and complete
• The amount and time frame for which the financial support is requested clearly communicated i.e. one-time grant, ongoing support or special project
• Other sources of funds applicable to the project must be included
• The organization must have good management, a solid background, well-established administration policies and Board of Directors

Selection Criteria

• To be eligible for consideration, the program outlined in the request must meet the following criteria:
• Be consistent with the Foundation's objectives
• Benefits are measurable
• Directly improve the quality of lives of Canadians i.e. preference will be given to specific projects vs. a general donation
• Reach a significant number of people

Criteria for partnering with a registered charity or qualified donee for a special fundraising event or special project:

• Consistent objects with the Foundation's
• Specific project has been proposed
• Shared vision between the Foundation and the organization
• Resources provided by the organization (i.e. coordinators, volunteers, database marketing opportunities, sponsors etc.)
• Professionalism, reputation, credibility
• Timing: lead-time is essential
• Staffing: ability to execute the event to meet the Foundation's standards (first class event, sufficient media support, ability to source sponsors, meet fundraising budget)
• Commitment and enthusiasm from an organization
• Ability to fulfill objectives set by the event and or project

Funding Limitations

In general, the Foundation will not support:

• Individual interests
• Religious groups
• Political causes (campaigns or candidates)
• Promotional sponsorships
• Projects outside of Canada
