Genier enters his second season as Senior Vice-President, Business Development, in which capacity he oversees the club’s corporate sponsorships, marketing, game-day operations and ticket sales.
Genier joined the Stampeders in 1995. In 1997, he was promoted to Senior Sales Executive and in 1999, Genier oversaw the sales department as season tickets sales soared over 27,000, the largest base in Canadian sport at the time.
On Feb. 7, 2005, Genier was promoted to vice-president, business development, a position he held for 6 seasons. Over his career with the Calgary Stampeders, Genier has developed and implemented several successful sales strategies along with building in-depth corporate partnerships. He is one of the founders of the Horsemen, a group of local business leaders assembled in 2008 to create support for the club in Calgary’s corporate sector. In addition, Genier also sits on the board of directors of Bobsleigh Canada Skelton and is Chair of the Mount Royal University Alumni association.
During his tenure with the Stamps, Genier has been part of three championship seasons. The Sturgeon Falls, Ont., native received his diploma of Business Administration from Mount Royal College and is a graduate of Western Canada High School. He has resided in Calgary since 1979, is active in the community and is an avid outdoorsman who enjoys golf, hiking and whitewater rafting.
