The Calgary Stampeders are heading to the Grey Cup.
They advanced to the Canadian Football League championship game on Saturday with a 22-18 win over the BC Lions at McMahon Stadium. The Stamps will face the Montreal Alouettes next Sunday in their first appearance since 2001.
Calgary received stellar efforts from its defence and special teams until the offence awoke late in the second quarter and did just enough to fend off the Lions.
The Stamps finished the regular season with the best record in the CFL at 13-5, but were under pressure to win a playoff game because their last post-season win was that Grey Cup victory in 2001.
