GARGIULO: A very welcome homecoming

Well I'm back in Calgary and I can't express how good it feels to be back around the team. The phone call from Jim Barker was very unexpected and very welcome at the same time. The offer to return to the Stamps aligned itself perfectly with the progress of my rehabilitation for my injury. I had reached a point where I was able to run any number of drills without pain and really needed to get back on the field in order to take the next step. So here I am!
I received a very welcome homecoming when I arrived at the locker-room today and it was great to reunite with so many of my teammates from last season. After meeting the new staff, I must say I am very impressed and pleased with regards to both their abilities and coaching philosophy. I felt a great energy inside the locker-room and saw a pop in everyone's step at practice. You can tell immediately that THIS is a team that is going somewhere. Everyone appears to have bought in.
I am extremely fortunate to have this opportunity to continue to do what I love. Although I took it a little slowly today at practice, I am looking forward to pushing myself over the coming days and getting a good feel for where I am. I would like nothing more than to contribute to the Stamps' 08 Grey Cup run. I'll see you on game day.
