LEWIS: Keep it rockin' all day

November 12, 2008

A link was started on Go Stamps Go encouraging Stamps fans to get loud for Saturday's West Final. Stamps players share that opinion and ask their fans to show their Horsepower at the big game this weekend.

What's up fans this is Nikilo Dymes and we are just days away from the West Final. I am so excited, and I know you as fans are too. I need you to help me out with something. I have never played in a West Final game before and I know it’s been a while since Calgary has hosted one. I need you, the fans to come to the game, pack the stands and show me how loud it gets in a West Final game.

Not only is this a great opportunity for us as players, but as fans this is a great excuse to be able to take off work and travel to the Grey Cup with a victory. As a fan myself I know how important each and everyone of you are. I have waited for this game to come all year, and I am very happy to be able to play against the team that has been the front-runner in the West since my arrival.  They are a good team, but at the same time we are a good team striving to be a great team.

I know all great teams have great fan support. I have heard some stadiums in this league that shake from the fans. Now, BC thinks they are going to come in here and win. They aren't worried about the crowd because to them, they just played against a team with great fans. I think it is time to step it up, and show people that when it's game time, IT'S GAME TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The players have been working all week preparing for this battle and it won't be easy, but it will be better if the house is rockin all day. I know people say we don't win playoff games and those same people also say our stadium isn't a loud stadium to play in. Well, as a player we have something to prove, and as fans you have something to prove. The best thing is that we have the chance to prove it at the same time.

This is not a Stampeders victory; this will be Calgary’s victory. So join the Stamps at McMahon Stadium and lets show that Calgary is the new front-runners in the CFL!

Hey Nik, Not only will it help if the crowd is loud. I have seen in the past when a football crowd does not sit down at all during the game. That in itself is very intimidating for the opposition. See what you can do about having requests put out around McMahon and on the scoreboard asking the fans to remain standing throughout the game!!! I wish I could be at the game but I live in B.C. I am counting on you guys big time on Saturday to do me proud. I am probly the only Stampeders fan in my town, I am sick of all the Lions fans around here gloating about thier team....So go out there and kick some butt alright!!

I have been a member of the Calgary Stampeder Outriders for 6 years and this is my first western final!! I cannot begin to express how excited I am for this game! Being on the field I know what kind of affect the fans can have. The noise of the fans gets blood pumpin' and adrenaline flowin'. We can rock the house along with rockin BC. Obviously I will be cheering my heart out, and I want to see the fans doing it too!

Nik Nik Nik we got your back baby. The Riders have the loudest fans but that got them where? Calgary sits high in the the sky(almost 4000 ft)so you best beleive we are calling your name it's just the altitude. Ask Wally (he'll be the guy shaking his head and coming unglued at the BC sidelines) he is very familar with that quiet pulse you can feel inside our stadium and it wasn't any louder here when he was winning. There are thousands more Stamps fans who have to watch the game from home(miss kaydee)and they ain't lazy and I don't even want to know what you might be choking on. Turn your ear to the sky Nik if you have to but get this done! Much Love Connie

Don't rise your hopes too high Calgary then you won't have so far to fall. The Lions have a good shot to win. It's a different Lions team when they play with killer passion. We saw that in Regina against a tough defence. I smell an "upset" in Calgary if the Lions passion to win meets the talent they have.

I saw you just over a Rider defender in the regular season and I can't wait to see what you do to win a Western Final! It's gonna be a good game and I hope you guys have a spare touchdown horse in the back barn just in case! Best touchdown celebration in football is watching that white horse running with the flag waving proud! There will be two fans in the crowd that have been seasons ticket holders since 1948. Thats right 60 years they've been cheering on the Stamps. Let's give them the loudest game from the stands and the best game on the field. Call out all of Calgary and tell them the Horsemen are Back!
