BURRIS: It's been a dream come true
December 23, 2008
Things have been going a million miles-an-hour since winning the Grey Cup. It’s been a dream come true, but a fast-forward version of a dream for sure.
I have watched the recording of the game every day since we won. It feels better every time. I don’t quite tear up the same every time, but it feels just as good otherwise. I feel the same excitement and that’s definitely been a good thing.
The fact that we’ve been able to share the Cup with everyone has been great. It’s been a lot of fun, we’ve been out to nightclubs, restaurants and anywhere we can with the Cup and it’s been different every time. It was a lot of fun, but near the end I had to get away. It was dusk-to-dawn everyday and I’m a 33-year old man that can’t take that much of that stuff anymore. I had to get away and get back with the family and take a vacation.
For the holidays, Nicole, the little guy and I are heading to Maui. I think it will be a great opportunity to kick back, relax and enjoy the warmth. This blizzard stuff is getting old. Plus I think it will be an opportunity to let everything sink in.
As soon as we come back after the holidays, I will set new goals for myself for next year. The first week back in January, we will start getting back into the cardio and strength conditioning. You don’t want things to slip too much before you really start ramping things up in February and March.
It’s been amazing to see everyone’s reactions in this city and I look forward to sharing it with you all in the New Year.

| Henry congrats on the Grey Cup victory! The only thing I could wish for is that you would give more credit to the "TEAM" rather than talking about it as "I". Looking forward to the '09 season! | |

| From one Okie to another, good job. I have followed your career since you first joined the Stampeders in 1998. And I was so proud of you for finally shutting up all those nay-sayers saying you couldn't win the big one. I was actually in Texas visiting with family for US Thanksgiving and watching you guys kick but up here in Canada. It was great. I hear you about this winter stuff, it is time for it all to go. I hope you and your family had a wonderful relaxing holiday in Hawaii. Time to start preparing for the 2009 season. Your faithful fan, Sheila |
