Calgary Stampeders fans might know Michael Petrie from the years he spent covering the team for the Calgary Herald. But he has spent the past two-plus years working for the club and was promoted to director of football operations earlier this month.

Nik Lewis admits he was stunned last week when he learned teammate and roommate Jeremaine Copeland had been traded to the Toronto Argonauts.
But after letting the news sink in for a few days, a couple of things became clear to the veteran Stampeders slotback. Firstly, he was grateful for the opportunity to play with the talented Copeland for five seasons in Calgary. Secondly, Lewis sees a golden opportunity to apply the lessons he’s learned from Copeland the player and Copeland the friend and teammate.

After spending much of his life immersed in Green and Gold, Rick Campbell admits donning the Red and White takes some getting used to.
“It’s going to be different,” acknowledged the Stampeders’ new running backs coach, who spent part of his childhood in Edmonton and was a member of the Eskimos coaching staff for 10 years. “And once the season arrives, I’m sure I’ll realize even more how different it is. But I’m actually really excited about it because I know Calgary is a first-class organization. I’ve had several conversations with Huff and I think it’s going to be a good deal all around.”

It’s been a long road back for Ken-Yon Rambo, but anyone who knows the veteran receiver out of Ohio State isn’t at all surprised about his single-minded determination to get back on the football field. Rambo’s 2009 season was cut short by a knee injury so severe that it needed two surgeries. However, from the very first stages of the rehab process, there was never any doubt about Rambo’s desire to return to the lineup.

Canadian Football League (CFL) fans are being asked to propose rule changes this year, with a particular emphasis on how to improve the game’s overtime format, says CFL Commissioner Mark Cohon.

In 2009, Henry Burris systematically removed Doug Flutie from the No. 1 position in most of the major categories of the Calgary Stampeders’ all-time passing statistics.
In 2010, Joffrey Reynolds is in position to do the same to Kelvin Anderson in the rushing section of the Red and White record books.

As hard as it may be to believe, it’s been 38 years since the Calgary Stampeders and Saskatchewan Roughriders have met in a West Final.
The previous West Final meeting between the Red and White and the Green Riders was all the way back in 1971 and even predates the familiar single-game format for the contest. Back then, teams played a best-of-three format and the Stampeders swept the 1971 series in two straight en route to the Grey Cup title.

Joffrey Reynolds has become the third player in Stampeders history to claim back-to-back rushing titles.
In claiming the 2009 crown with 1,504 yards, Reynolds joins Lovell Coleman (1963-64) and James Sykes (1980-81) as the only members of the Red and White to accomplish the feat.
