Pro path

Calgary acquired Mace's rights in a trade with the Toronto Argonauts on Aug. 21, 2010, in exchange for linebacker Tristan Black. Mace signed on Aug. 29, 2010. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers selected him in the second round (11th overall) of the 2007 CFL Canadian Draft. His CFL rights were traded to Hamilton in 2008 and then to Toronto in 2009. He signed with the National Football League’s Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent in 2007 and played three games with Buffalo in 2008 and two in 2009.

2012

After being limited to just one game the season before because of an Achilles tendon injury, Mace came back strong as he started all 18 regular-season games at defensive tackle as well as all three post-season contests. During the regular season, he led all Calgary interior linemen with 25 tackles and he added one sack, one pass knockdown and two forced fumbles. He even contributed offensively, making a one-yard touchdown reception during the Oct. 26 contest against BC. In the playoffs, he had two tackles and one sack in the West Division final win over BC and one tackle in the Grey Cup.

2011

Mace was a starter at defensive tackle in the Stampeders’ season-opener against Toronto but suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in that contest and missed the remainder of the season. He managed two tackles and one sack in his only game of the season before suffering the injury.

2010

After his rights were acquired from the Toronto Argonauts in a mid-season trade, Mace signed with the Stampeders on Aug. 29 and made his Calgary and CFL debut at the Labour Day Classic. He dressed for eight regular-season games as well as the West final and made a total of three starts at defensive tackle. Mace’s most noteworthy play came in an Oct. 17 contest at Saskatchewan as he recovered a fumble and returned it 60 yards for a game-sealing touchdown. He also had six tackles and one sack during the season and added three more tackles in the West final.
