Calgary signed Sharun as a free agent on July 28, 2015. He was selected by the Edmonton Eskimos in the sixth round (43rd overall) of the 2010 CFL draft.
(Calgary) Sharun played two games and spent the rest of the season on the practice roster.
(Edmonton) Sharun dressed for 13 regular-season games and recorded nine special-teams tackles. He had a pair of two-tackle games — against BC on June 28 and against Toronto on Aug. 23. Sharun also played in both the Western Semi-Final and Western Final and had one special-teams tackle.
(Edmonton) Sharun played in 12 games and registered one defensive tackle and 14 special-teams tackles. He had one defensive tackle and two special-teams tackles in the Sept. 6 Labour Day rematch against the Calgary Stampeders.
(Edmonton) Sharun was in uniform for 13 regular-season contests and recorded 13 special-teams tackles. He scored his first CFL touchdown during a Sept. 7 game against Calgary as he caught a 35-yard pass from Matt Nichols after a botched field-goal attempt.
(Edmonton) In his second season with the Eskimos, Sharun dressed for all 18 regular-season games as well as a pair of post-season contests. During the season, he led Edmonton and was second in the CFL with 25 special-teams tackles. Sharun recorded a career-high four special-teams tackles against Hamilton on July 9 and he also had three-tackle games against Saskatchewan on Oct. 10 and Nov. 4. He also had one defensive tackle during the regular season and one special-teams tackle in the playoffs.
(Edmonton) Sharun played 16 games during his rookie season and notched 16 special-teams tackles, one defensive tackle and one punt block. He finished the season strong with seven special-teams tackles in the final three games including three tackles against the Roughriders on Oct. 23. He made his CFL debut on July 11 against Montreal and recorded his first special-teams tackle on Aug. 6 against Toronto.

Sharun played for the Edmonton Wildcats juniors and in 2009 recorded 25 tackles, five interceptions and one fumble recovery to help his team win a national championship. He played quarterback at St. Francis Xavier University in 2006 and 2007.
Sharun quarterbacked Strathcona High School to a pair of Edmonton city championships.
