Pro path

Calgary selected Sinopoli in the fourth round (29th overall) of the 2011 CFL Canadian Draft and he signed on May 20, 2011. He was released prior to the 2012 season, but was re-signed on July 9, 2012.

2012

Sinopoli rejoined the Stamps on July 9 and served as the club’s third quarterback. He dressed for 10 regular-season games, the West final and the Grey Cup. 

2011

In his rookie season, Sinopoli dressed for all 18 regular-season games and the West semifinal. Although he did not attempt a pass or run, Sinopoli did see the field briefly in mop-up duty and was the holder on field goals.

College

Sinopoli played at the University of Ottawa for four seasons and won the 2010 Hec Crighton award as the top player in Canadian university football in 2010. He led the country in all major passing categories including touchdowns (22), yards (2,756), yards per game (344.5) and completions (184) and established school single-season records for attempts, completions, passing yards and touchdowns. Sinopoli also led the Gee-Gees in rushing in 2010 with 534 yards on 42 carries, an average of 12.7 yards per carry. He recorded three 400-yard games including a 451-yard effort against Toronto in which he completed 32 of 43 passes and threw for four touchdowns. He was one of only two quarterbacks invited to the 2011 CFL Evaluation Camp. 

Notable

Sinopoli attended Crestwood Secondary School in Peterborough, Ont., and was a member of the 2005 Ontario Bowl champions. He also played hockey for the Peterborough Minor Petes.
