Pro path

Calgary signed Hecht as a free agent on June 25, 2012. He signed with the Montreal Alouettes as an undrafted free agent on May 26, 2011.

2014

Hecht has played in 11 games and has seven special-teams tackles and fumble recovery.

2013

Hecht played 16 games and had 10 special-teams tackles and six defensive tackles. He was on the injured list for Games 5-6. Hecht also played in the Western Final.

2012

After signing with the Stampeders in June, Hecht saw action in two regular-season games and did not record any stats. He was in uniform for all three playoff games and recorded three special-teams tackles in the West Division semifinal and two in the Grey Cup.

2011

Hecht dressed for 17 regular-season games and the East Division semifinal as a rookie for the Alouettes and saw action at cornerback and safety as well as on special-teams. For the season, he recorded 32 tackles, six special-teams tackles, one forced fumble and one interception. Hecht recorded two tackles in his professional debut on June 30 against the BC Lions. His first career interception came on Sept. 18 against Winnipeg while his season high of six tackles came against Calgary on Oct. 30. He had one defensive tackle in the East Division semifinal.

College

Hecht played three seasons with the Saint Mary’s Huskies, collecting 54 tackles, including 9.5 tackles for loss, four sacks, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. He had four interceptions including two picks that he returned for touchdowns — one in 2009 and another in 2010. He was named a second-team All-Canadian in 2010 and was invited to the CIS East-West Bowl.

Notable

Prior to attending Saint Mary’s, Hecht spent five seasons with the junior Edmonton Wildcats.
