Calgary signed Bell as a free agent on Feb. 12, 2014. He signed with the BC Lions on May 22, 2012, and spent two seasons with the CFL club. Bell signed with the National Football League’s San Diego Chargers on Apr. 28, 2008, and he was released at the end of training camp. He joined the Denver Broncos’ practice roster on Sept. 24, 2008, and he was added to the active roster on Oct. 27, 2008. Bell signed with the Green Bay Packers on Nov. 23, 2009. He has played 13 career NFL games — nine with the Broncos and four with the Packers.


(Calgary) Bell started 18 games (17 at safety, one at halfback) and recorded 47 tackles, two tackles for a loss of four yards, six special-teams tackles, an interception, four knockdowns and a fumble recovery for eight yards. He also started both playoff games at safety and registered seven tackles and a fumble recovery. He was named a West Division all-star.


(Calgary) Bell started all 18 games at safety and registered 56 tackles, three tackles for a loss of five yards, two special-teams tackles, a forced fumble and two interceptions for 43 yards. On July 18 against Hamilton, Bell moved to cornerback during the game and came up with his first interception as a Stampeder. He also started the Western Final and recorded three tackles and two knockdowns and the Grey Cup registering two tackles and a special teams tackle. 


(BC) Bell made 16 regular-season starts at halfback for the Lions and was also a starter in the Western Semi-Final at Saskatchewan. He recorded 45 tackles, including four tackles for loss, during the regular season and added four special-teams tackles, four pass knockdowns and one interception. The pick, the first of Bell’s CFL career, came during an Aug. 22 game against the Montreal Alouettes. He recorded career-best totals of five tackles on Sept. 22 against Saskatchewan and Oct. 11 against Calgary. Bell had four tackles in the Western Semi-Final against the Roughriders.


(BC) Bell saw action in two games as a backup defensive back and special-teams player, recording one defensive tackle and one special-teams tackle. He made his CFL debut on July 14 against Saskatchewan and registered one tackle and two special-teams tackles,

Bell played four seasons at Baylor (2004-07) and played a total of 46 games. As a senior, he recorded 61 total tackles and broke up 10 passes. For his career, he had 93 tackles, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery.


Bell attended Skyline High School in Dallas and was a first-team all-district player as a senior in 2002. He also ran track in high school. He was a chemistry major at Baylor.
