SalvationArmy

The Calgary Stampeders and their fans team up with the Salvation Army every fall to help provide warmth and comfort to the less fortunate of our community.

For more than a decade, the Calgary Stampeders, their fans and the Salvation Army have teamed up to help provide warmth and comfort for the less fortunate of our community.

The Salvation Army Coat Drive is held every season at a Stampeders home game, with fans donating new or gently used coats and cash to help ensure everyone has a warm winter.

“I’m always willing to do what I can each year in support of this great cause,” said Brandon Smith, the team’s player representative for the Coat Drive. “But most importantly, it’s great to see how many coats Stamps fans generously donate to help Calgarians stay warm through the winters.”

In addition to the Coat Drive, the Stampeders annually participate in the Salvation Army Santa Shuffle Fun Run and Elf Walk. The event takes place at the Eau Claire Market and involves hundreds of runners and walkers who raise money to provide food and shelter for the homeless.
