Calgary signed Dales as a free agent on Mar. 8, 2005 and then re-signed him as a free agent on May 24, 2009. Following his time at Concordia, Dales attended the Pittsburgh Steelers' training camp in 2002. He then went to training camp with the Montreal Alouettes in 2003 before leaving football for a season.
2008
In his fourth season with the Stamps, Dales played in every game including the West Final and Grey Cup. He had 110 punts for 5,076 yards, just 18 yards shy of his career high. He set a personal best with a 46.1-yard average. His best game came against Toronto on Sept. 20 when he booted nine punts for 484 yards and an average of 53.8, both his highest totals of the season. For the fourth straight season, Dales ranked in the top five in the CFL for punting average.
2007
Dressed in 10 regular-season games including the first seven of the season before an injury sidelined him. He punted a season-high 13 times for 587 yards at Saskatchewan on July 8. He recorded his longest punt of the season at home versus Toronto on July 21, booming an 80-yarder. The kick was one of three kicked by Dales in 2007 that travelled more than 60 yards. Dales split the punting duties with Duncan O’Mahony and saw action in three of the final four games of the regular season.

College
Dales played his college football at Concordia. He was a standout punter and also saw time as a receiver and linebacker. He was a three-time all-star selection in the Quebec Interuniversity Football Conference and in 2001 was a first-team All-Canadian selection.
Notable
He lives in Calgary year-round, working in the off-season. He is heavily involved with the club’s community efforts, especially charity-oriented appearances. Dales’ sister Stacey played in the WNBA with the Chicago Sky and Washington Mystics. His cousin, Jason Arnott, plays for the NHL’s Nashville Predators.
