Calgary signed Johnson as a free agent on Aug. 22, 2009. He attended training camp with the Baltimore Ravens in 2001 before being released and joining the Chicago Bears practice squad. He played for Rhein in NFL Europe in 2002 before signing to join the Oakland Raiders’ practice squad. He remained with Oakland through the 2005 season and returned to Baltimore in 2006.
College
Johnson spent his final two seasons at Youngstown State after transferring from East Mississippi Junior College. During his senior season at Youngstown State, he finished third in voting for the Division I-AA defensive player of the year.
Notable
In addition to playing football at Fairfield High School in Alabama, Johnson was a catcher on the baseball team and a point guard on the basketball team.
