CAREER

Pro path

Calgary acquired for Lazeo from Saskatchewan on June 23, 2007 in exchange for running back Wes Cates. He was originally selected by Saskatchewan in the first round (12th overall) of the 1995 CFL Canadian Draft. On Aug. 15, 2000, he signed a contract with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers. After two seasons in Winnipeg, he re-signed with Saskatchewan.

2009

Injuries limited forced Lazeo to miss six regular-season games as well as the West final. When healthy, Lazeo provided his usual stability and experience at the centre position. He was part of a unit that paved the way for Joffrey Reynolds to claim his second straight CFL rushing title. The offensive line also allowed the Red and White to lead the CFL in yards per carry (6.0) and average rushing yards per game (129.7). Calgary was tied with Montreal for the third-fewest sacks allowed.

2008

Lazeo was in the starting lineup at centre for all 18 regular-season contests and both playoff contests. He and right guard Dimitri Tsoumpas were the two season-long constants in an offensive line that was among the league leaders in fewest sacks allowed (30), average rushing yards per game (134.5) and provided blocking for CFL rushing champion Joffrey Reynolds. He was Calgary’s nominee for Outstanding Offensive Lineman and was named to the CFL West Division all-star team.

2007

Lazeo played as a backup guard early in the season. He moved to centre in September when John Comiskey was injured. He claimed the position and was Calgary’s top offensive lineman for the second half of the season. The veteran allowed only one sack during the final half of the campaign.
