Calgary signed Cote as an undrafted free agent on Apr. 30, 2007.

2009

Cote played in 17 regular-season games as well as two playoff contests and made a total of six starts, including the West semifinal against Edmonton. He was the team leader in special-teams tackles with 19. Asked to play a larger role in the offence after an injury to Teyo Johnson, Cote responded with a series of big plays. He scored an overtime touchdown on a six-yard catch on Oct. 17 against Saskatchewan. He had another six-yard reception score the following week against Edmonton and the week after that he fell just inches short of the end-zone on a 28-yard catch at BC. During that Oct. 31 contest against the Lions, he registered a career-high four catches for 75 yards. For the season, he had seven receptions for 99 yards and two scores. He also had four carries for 20 yards.

2008

In his second season with the Stamps, Cote played in 10 games, starting in six. He contributed on offence in the run game as a lead blocker and in the passing game by hauling in a pair of receptions for 23 yards. Cote also recorded three special-teams tackles.

2007

In his first professional season, Cote dressed in all 18 regular-season games. In his first CFL game, Cote had one carry for three yards and three receptions for 20 yards and a touchdown. The score was the first of his CFL career and garnered him the CFL’s top-Canadian honours in Week 1. He scored his only other touchdown of the season against BC on July 28, a 20-yard pass reception from Henry Burris. He had another multi-reception game against Hamilton on Sept. 21. He added one reception for three yards in the West Division Semi Final at Saskatchewan.

Junior

Following his time at Cochrane High School, Cote played for the Victoria Rebels of the British Columbia Football Conference. In his two seasons, he amassed 49 carries for 407 yards, 90 receptions for 1,698 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also added 12 tackles, one fumble recovery and one pass completion for 17 yards. He was the Rebels’ MVP for both seasons.

Notable

Cote grew up in Cochrane, playing for the Cochrane High School Cobras. He was a Rockyview Football all-star from 2001 to 2003 and the league MVP in 2003. He is the Stamps’ player representative for the Hike for Hospice in support of Hospice Calgary. He continues to pursue his degree at the University of Calgary in the off-season.
