Calgary signed Summers as a free agent on May 21, 2008. He attended Dallas Cowboys training camp in 2006 and joined the Stampeders after two years out of the game.

2008

In his first season with the Stamps, Summers dressed for 10 games. He proved to be a versatile player as he racked up 964 all-purpose yards, fourth on the team. He led the team in kickoff return yards (657), ranked fourth in rushing (121) and third in punt returns (32). His best game came against Toronto on Sept. 27 when he ran back six kickoffs for 189 yards, including a 60-yarder. His 274 all-purpose yards in the game represented the highest single-game total by a Stamps player in 2008. He posted a similar performance in the West Final against BC on Nov. 15 by taking back five kickoffs for 183 yards, including a long of 53.

  • Had 99 all-purpose yards, including 90 on kick returns, in the Stamps' 2008 Grey Cup victory
  • Scored first career touchdown with a six-yard run against Saskatchewan on Oct. 10, 2008
  • In his first career game, against Edmonton on July 3, 2008, he returned four kickoffs for 109 yards

College

Summers was named to the SEC All-Freshman team in 2003. He gained 1,476 all-purpose yards in his career and totaled 1,125 rushing yards with three touchdowns in two seasons as a Gamecock.

Notable

Summers was a standout for the Lexington High School Wildcats and graduated as the state of South Carolina’s all-time leading high-school rusher with 9,076 yards and 127 touchdowns.
