Local product Tollestrup signs on

Calgary Stampeders head coach and general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce that non-import receiver Dalin Tollestrup has signed with the team. As per club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

Tollestrup was born in Lethbridge and played quarterback at Raymond High School, leading the Comets to a provincial championship in 2005. He started his collegiate career at the University of Calgary in 2006 and was named the CIS rookie of the year as he completed 147 of 280 passes for 1,941 yards and six touchdowns. He also rushed for 258 yards.

After serving a two-year Mormon mission to El Salvador and Belize, he enrolled at Brigham Young University and spent four years at the school, seeing action as both a receiver and a quarterback.

His CFL rights were previously owned by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and subsequently traded to the Edmonton Eskimos in 2011.
