Calgary Stampeders general manager John Hufnagel is pleased to announce the signing of international receiver Bakari Grant.

Grant is a veteran of five CFL seasons, all with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. In 70 career regular-season games, the six-foot-four Oakland, Calif., native has 242 catches for 3,027 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also has 28 catches for 498 yards and two scores in nine career post-season contests. Grant was named an East Division all-star in 2013.

“Bakari is a tall, talented receiver who has been a reliable player throughout his CFL career,” said Hufnagel. “I believe he will be a good fit with our offence and I look forward to seeing him perform as a member of the Stampeders.”

Grant signed with the National Football League’s San Francisco 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2010 after a standout career at the University of California-Davis. He was first-team all-Great West Conference in 2009 and second-team in 2007 and 2008 and had 154 catches for 1,937 yards and 18 touchdowns over four seasons with the Aggies.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to continue my career,” said Grant. “Calgary is a great place for a fresh start because of their tradition of consistency and success and I look forward to the season.”
