Hoops team victorious at Valley Creek

The TELUS Stampeders Basketball Program paid a visit to Valley Creek School on Tuesday for the sixth game on the 2016 schedule.

Spencer Wilson, Bo Levi Mitchell, Rob Cote, Adam Thibault, Deron Mayo, Brandon Boudreaux, Ben D’Aguilar and Andrew Buckley combined to take down the Chargers’ two senior teams by a score of 55-36.

Multiple three-point shots from Cote swished through the net as the veteran running back couldn’t seem to miss from deep in the corner. Wilson also made his presence felt by gathering in several defensive rebounds, while Mayo and Mitchell connected for a memorable reverse lay-up down the stretch.

Throughout the game, Ralph the Dog made his way around the gym to mingle with students lining the court.  A team photo featuring both the Stamps and the Chargers was taken following the event and an exclusive autograph session was made available to the 20 student-athletes.

Valley Creek’s top male player was awarded a Stamps team-signed jersey and the most outstanding female player was presented with a TELUS Bluetooth speaker. Four Selfie Sticks provided by the program’s title sponsor were distributed to spirited fans as well.

The final installment of the 2016 TELUS Stampeders Basketball Program will see the Red and White stop by Mountain Park School on Mar. 31 at 1 p.m.
