Stamps secure win in season finale

In their seventh and final game of the 2016 TELUS Stampeders Basketball Program, the Stamps were victorious over the Mountain Park Wolverines on Thursday afternoon.

The fun-filled community event saw the Red and White play two games – first against Mountain Park’s junior team followed by a showdown with their senior squad – as Brandon Boudreaux, Andrew Buckley, Deron Mayo, Bo Levi Mitchell, Adam Thibault and Spencer Wilson represented the Stampeders.

Every Stampeders player found the scoresheet, including Thibault with a deep three-pointer and Boudreaux who made his presence felt under the basket from beginning to end. Numerous steals from Mitchell earned the Stamps several extra possessions against the tenacious Wolverines.

Ralph the Dog was on hand to entertain the onlookers while three members of the Stampeders Outriders performed for the crowd at centre court in between the two games.

The most outstanding female player took home a Stamps team-signed jersey. Meanwhile, the game’s top male performer was presented with a portable smartphone charger provided by TELUS, who also distributed four Selfie Sticks to passionate Wolverine supporters.

In total, 13 Stamps players took to the hardcourt during the month of March. Travelling all throughout Calgary for their seven games, the team also visited the nearby communities of Chestermere and Millarville as part of the 2016 TELUS Stampeders Basketball Program.
