On the day before Thursday’s home game versus the Saskatchewan Roughriders, Fred Bennett, Simon Charbonneau-Campeau, Rene Paredes, Brandon Smith and Jamar Wall visited patients at the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

Ashleigh, Chelsea, Drew and Jen of the Outriders, presented by Century Downs, also made an appearance.

As part of the Every Yard Counts program, presented by Shane Homes, the afternoon was spent playing video games, painting Stampeders posters and creating felt pennants in the art studio.

The five players and four cheerleaders also made a series of room-by-room stops to see children and their families. Bennett and Wall even participated in a game of air hockey with a delighted young boy before departing.

Mini-footballs and posters were signed by the Stamps representatives. Also, kids posed for pictures with their favourite members of the Red and White.

A select number of patients will also be receiving tickets to see Calgary take on Saskatchewan on Thursday night.

Following two consecutive road games, the Every Yard Counts program will resume on Friday, Aug. 26 before the Hamilton Tiger-Cats visit McMahon Stadium on Sunday, Aug. 28.
