TELUS basketball schedule set

The TELUS Stampeders Basketball Program will make its 2017 debut on Thursday, Mar. 2 when the squad hits the hardwood at Georges P. Vanier School.

The launch of the new season – and the Stamps’ version of March Madness – continues a tradition of a quarter-century that has seen players visit school gymnasiums in and around Calgary for a spirited but friendly game of hoops. Bo Levi Mitchell, Andrew Buckley, Rene Paredes, Rob Maver, Spencer Wilson and Anthony Parker are just a few members of the Red and White who participated in 2016 and are expected to return for this year’s slate of games.

In addition to current players and staff, Ralph the Dog and members of the Outriders frequently attend the events. Mark Stephen of News Talk 770, the voice of the Stampeders, makes occasional appearances to provide pre-game intros and play-by-play commentary. TELUS, a proud partner of the Stampeders, will be distributing prizes to students in attendance.
