Red and White attend the Hike

Despite less-than-ideal weather conditions on Sunday morning, the Stampeders didn’t let a little rain dampen their day.

The 12th annual Hike for Hospice, a major fundraiser for Hospice Calgary, took place in Fish Creek Provincial Park. All proceeds will support grieving families and those living with a life-threatening illness at either of Hospice Calgary’s two locations – Sage Centre or Rosedale Hospice.

Player representative Rob Cote attended the event for the 10th straight year and was joined by several other members of the organization. Teammates Charlie Power and Adam Thibault participated in addition to many members of the Outriders, presented by Century Downs.

Prior to the Hike, the Outriders led a brief warm-up and Cote thanked the crowd for their continued support of Hospice Calgary.

Ralph the Dog was also on hand to bring smiles to the faces of numerous young children.

A BBQ lunch was provided following the 5-km walk. While food was being served, prizes were presented and photographs were taken with Stamps representatives.

In total, more than 600 individuals took part in this year’s Hike for Hospice and more than $100,000 was generated.
