Draft pick Adeleke and three internationals signed

The Calgary Stampeders have signed their 2017 third-round draft pick – defensive back and returner Tunde Adeleke – and three international players to complete their rookie-camp roster. In addition to Adeleke, defensive lineman Mike Rose, linebacker D’Nerius Antoine and receiver Kevin Smith have joined the Red and White.

Tunde Adeleke, #31
Defensive back
College: Carleton
Height: 5-foot-9
Weight: 190 lb.

National

Adeleke was selected in the third round (25th overall) by the Stamps. He played four seasons at Carleton, seeing action as both a defensive back and a kick returner. He earned first-team Ontario University Association and all-Canadian honours as a returner in 2015 and 2016 and was a second-team OUA all-star at defensive back in both 2014 and 2016. He had nine career punt-return touchdowns for the Ravens including five in 2016. For his career, he averaged 16.0 yards on 122 punt returns and 26.2 yards on 44 kickoff returns. Defensively, he has recorded 127 total tackles including four tackles for loss, four interceptions and seven pass breakups.

D’Nerius Antoine, #56

College: Southern Mississippi
Height: 6-foot

International

Antoine attended rookie mini-camp with the Chicago Bears in 2017. He played two seasons at Southern Mississippi, where he lined up at defensive back. In 27 games with the Golden Eagles, he tallied 189 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, five forced fumbles, 2.5 sacks and two interceptions returned for 56 yards. He also contributed on special teams with 11 kickoff returns for 250 yards and five punt returns for 42 yards. Antoine was an all-Conference USA honorable mention as a junior in 2015. He spent his first two seasons of eligibility at Trinity Valley Community College in Athens, Tex.

Mike Rose, #77

International

Rose attended training camp with the New York Giants in 2016. In college, he appeared in 51 games over four seasons at North Carolina State and recorded 121 tackles, 34 tackles for loss, 17 sacks and four forced fumbles.

Kevin Smith, #76
Receiver
College: Washington
Height: 5-foot-11
Weight: 214 lb.
Born: Dec. 21, 1991
International

Smith played seven regular-season games and two post-season contests for the Seattle Seahawks in 2015, making a total of five catches for 64 yards. At the University of Washington, Smith made 72 catches for 1,059 yards and four touchdowns in 47 games. He also contributed with eight carries for 61 yards and one touchdown in addition to 62 kickoff returns for 1,445 yards.
