The Calgary Stampeders kick off the local portion of their 2017 schedule on Thursday as they face the Ottawa RedBlacks in the second half of their season-opening home-and-home series. Kickoff at McMahon Stadium is 7 p.m.

The same clubs met in Week 1 at Ottawa’s TD Place Stadium and the result was a 31-31 tie.

This is the third time in franchise history the Stamps have played an Ottawa squad in their home-opener. Calgary faced the Rough Riders in the McMahon curtain-raiser in both 1969 and 1971, with each team winning a game.

The Stamps are 40-30-1 all-time in home-openers including a 33-22-1 since McMahon Stadium opened in 1960. The Stamps are riding a five-game winning streak in home-openers and are 19-8 in their first home date since 1990.
