Come tailgate with the 1992 Stamps

Fans can mingle with members of the Calgary Stampeders’ 1992 Grey Cup-championship team at the Legacy Tailgate, presented by Coors Light, prior to Saturday’s home game against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

From 4:30 p.m. until kickoff at 7:30 p.m., Stamps alumni Stu Laird, Bruce Covernton, Junior Thurman, Will Johnson, Pee Wee Smith, Rocco Romano, Matt Finlay and Darryl Hall, among others, will be attending the ultimate tailgate party on the field immediately south of McMahon Stadium. The Grey Cup trophy will also be there.

Admission is free with a game ticket and is open to fans of all ages, with entry based on available capacity. Those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

A live band will be performing and food and beverages will be available for purchase.

When: Saturday, July 29 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Where: Practice field immediately south of McMahon Stadium

The 1992 Stampeders were a high-powered team that scored 607 points while building a 13-5 regular-season record and won the third championship in franchise history by defeating the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 24-10 in the Grey Cup game.

In addition to the pre-game Legacy Tailgate, players, coaches and staff from the team that brought home the Cup 25 years ago will be honoured at halftime. On Friday, a sold-out luncheon will be held at the Red and White Club.
