Alumni Spotlight: Dave Heasman

Dave Heasman lived out his dream by playing for his hometown team.

The offensive lineman started his CFL career up north with the Edmonton Eskimos but he joined the Stamps as a free agent in 2000 and wound up playing four years with the Red and White and was a member of Calgary’s Grey Cup-winning club in 2001.

He played one season with the Lions in 2004 — and made a second Grey Cup appearance — before deciding to walk away from the game.

Armed with a business degree, Heasman returned to his hometown and worked for Enmax, the company that had initially hired him while he was still an active player.

He eventually transitioned to the oil industry and is now senior surface landman with Husky Energy.

Heasman had long been involved with the Stampeders alumni and is currently serving as the organization’s president.

You can meet Heasman this evening! He will be signing autographs in the Fan Zone in the Reliance Home Comfort Home Heroes’ booth from 5 – 6 p.m. on the east side of McMahon before the game.
