The Calgary Stampeders have added international defensive back Joel Ross to the practice roster.

Ross attended training camp with the Stampeders and appeared in one pre-season game, recording two tackles and one interception against the BC Lions. The Stamps originally signed Ross last season during the expanded practice-roster period. He signed with Calgary for a second time on March 6.

In 2015, Ross was added to the practice roster of the National Football League’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In 2016, he was signed by the Chicago Bears.

Ross played four seasons (2011-14) at Appalachian State and was a three-year starter. He played 41 career games for the Mountaineers and during his senior season in 2014 he had 39 total tackles, one sack and three interceptions.
