Defensive lineman Ja’Gared Davis has been honoured as a Canadian Football League player of the week for his play in the Calgary Stampeders’ 15-9 road victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday.

Davis had three sacks against the Roughriders including one that forced a fumble in the final minute of play – with Davis recovering the loose ball himself – to preserve the win. The second-year player out of Southern Methodist University had three tackles and a quarterback pressure to help the Stamps extend their winning streak to nine games.

For the season, Davis has played seven games and has 21 tackles, seven sacks, two forced fumbles, 17 quarterback pressures and one punt block.

Stamps players have been received a total of eight player-of-the-week awards so far in 2017.
