Stampeders Release Dexter Janke

CALGARY, AB - JUNE 29, 2017: The Calgary Stampeders won 43-39 against the Ottawa Redblacks at McMahon Stadium on Thursday night.

The Calgary Stampeders have released national linebacker Dexter Janke.

Janke, 25, was selected by the Stamps in the fifth round (44th overall) of the 2015 CFL draft and played 16 regular-season games, one playoff game and one Grey Cup game for the Red and White. He made 13 special-teams tackles and one defensive tackle over three years with Calgary.

Janke, an Edmonton native, played junior football for the Okanagan Sun in 2014 after spending the 2011-13 seasons at the University of Saskatchewan as a running back.
