Watch: New Team Captains

Bo Levi Mitchell, Alex Singleton, Jamar Wall and Rene Paredes are the Stampeders’ captains for the 2018 season. The four were chosen as a result of a player vote.

Mitchell is in his seventh season with Calgary and this will be his fourth as a team captain. The quarterback from Katy, Tex., has the highest winning percentage for a starting quarterback in CFL history and is a two-time winner of the Herm Harrison Memorial Award which honours a Stampeders player who distinguishes himself in service to the community.

Singleton, a linebacker, and Wall, a defensive back, are both first-time captains. Singleton is in his third season with the Red and White and is the reigning winner of the CFL’s Most Outstanding Defensive Player award. Wall is a two-time CFL all-star who is heading into his seventh season with Calgary.

Paredes is entering his eighth season with the Stampeders and his fifth as a captain. The veteran kicker is a four-time division and CFL all-star and was the Stamps’ nominee for Most Outstanding Special Teams Player in 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2016.
