Grant Added To Practice Roster

CALGARY, AB - SEPTEMBER 5, 2016: The Calgary Stampeders won 45-24 against the Edmonton Eskimos at McMahon Stadium on Monday afternoon's Labour Day game.

The Calgary Stampeders have added veteran international receiver Bakari Grant to the practice roster.

Grant has played 98 career regular-season games over seven seasons in the Canadian Football League including 10 with the Stamps in 2016. He spent the first five seasons of his career in Hamilton and was with Saskatchewan in 2017.

The 31-year-old Oakland native has 370 career catches for 4,685 yards and 25 touchdowns. With Calgary in 2016, he made 44 receptions for 625 yards – a career-best 14.2 yards per catch – and four touchdowns. He set career highs in 2017 with 84 catches and 1,033 yards.

Grant has extensive post-season experience with 10 playoff games as well as three Grey Cup appearances – with Hamilton in 2013 and 2014 and with Calgary in 2016. He has 37 career post-season receptions for 663 yards and three touchdowns.

Grant attended training camp with the National Football League’s San Francisco 49ers in 2010.

Before turning pro, he played four seasons at the University of California-Davis and had 154 receptions for 1,937 yards and 18 touchdowns over his career with the Aggies. He was first-team All-Great West Conference in 2009 and second-team in 2007 and 2008.
